A modder has created a 3D printed Steam Deck, and it almost looks like an official accessory. The custom dock is designed to support a portable power station with a USB-C hub, effectively simulating the delayed operation of a Valve dock.
Shared by Hannover2k on Reddit, Custom steam bridge The docking station has a streamlined design that matches the portable thick backrest. A raised and tiltable PDA stand holds your device at a comfortable angle, while a ventilated USB-C hub lets you add I/O to your 3D printed project.
The tech wizard project is specifically designed to house the Dockteck 7-in-1 hub, a docking station alternative with HDMI output, Ethernet port, two USB 3.0 ports, and 100W of power. Like the official dock, its cable runs out the back of the Steam Deck to a connector with an angled USB-C adapter, which should help you manage cables while you’re at your desk.
If you own a Valve gaming laptop, you’ve probably already considered choosing the best Steam Deck dock alternative, especially since the real deal is on hold indefinitely. It’s worth noting that there are plenty of third-party support options out there that can fill the gap, but this 3D-printed solution appears to be the answer.

We don’t know if the creator of the base will share the project online, but Steam Deck fans are already interested in the custom base. If you have access to a 3D printer, you can save a few pennies by printing your own prop at home. Valve has yet to share the price of the missing dock, but it will likely cost more than a DIY fix.
