Terraria gains a new vision potion and reveals the terrifying evil biomes of the sandbox game. The new item should help players prevent corrupted landscapes from infesting the world map, a Hardcore mode feature that turns the map into a pixel hellhole.
Re-logic’s head of marketing, Ted “Loki” Murphy, shows off Terraria’s new vision potion at filmed excerpt, with an object that apparently reveals the presence of evil biomes underground. This allows the player to clear infested areas with the Clentaminator, a steampunk pistol that can be used on hard mode to create and destroy ecosystems.
In response to the discovery of the Terraria potion, fans announced that the item would be a game changer. A helpful drink should help hardcore players destroy every bit of sinister ground on the world map, ultimately preventing evil from showing up at your base door. A player suggests that it could even improve the experience for colorblind adventurers, as it makes Consecrated and Normal Stone more distinct in low-light conditions.
The Evil Biome Vision potion is coming to Terraria 1.4.4 and this hotfix aims to bring balance to survival gameplay. While Re-logic previously said Journey’s Actual End update would be its last, weapons like Dark Lance, Frostbrand, Flairon, Scourge of the Corruptor, and Star Wrath are all set to make a buff.

Terraria’s upcoming quality of life improvements should be a big deal if you’re a longtime fan, but the update is smaller. It’s unclear if this is related to Re-logic’s desire to make a sequel, but teasers for Terraria 2 sparked speculation earlier this year.
