Bungie has included a nod to the infamous Telesto exotic fusion rifle in the new season of Destiny 2’s Ghosts, and in keeping with the weapon’s troubled past, its reintroduction into an FPS game continues to cause problems for players. Same Alex Wakeford, Halo Community Writerwhoever created the “Previously in Destiny” and “Previously in Halo” lore sites said he also encountered the latest weapons atrocity.
Telesto is so legendary for its issues that it has its own dedicated website that keeps track of all weapon-related error messages and the time since the last known issue. The Telesto’s new look puts it in the hands of the local Banshee-44 tower gunsmith, who has it at the ready when it comes to players. However, this coincided with game crash case when players tried to purchase items from Banshee-44.
Cozmo, Bungie Community General Manager responded to the news with a “clock reset” gif referencing the Telesto report website. Writer Halo Wakeford also had trouble posting an image of Banshee-44 with his empty hands posed as if he were holding a rifle and asking “Where did Telesto go?”
Bungie has already removed the Telesto from Destiny 2 several times due to some of its more serious bugs, so perhaps the weapon is taking matters into its own hands and getting rarer. Or perhaps, as some members of the community have suggested, Telesto finally came to his senses and fled to roam the Tower, shutting down players’ servers when they least expected it.

Given the title of the current season, this could be the start of Bungie’s elaborate metagame narrative to unravel the mystery of the “haunted weapon” for the space game. If you managed to avoid Telesto issues, he can learn how to start the Destiny 2 Nightmare Containment activity, which is a part of Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted.
