How to Start a Destiny 2 Nightmare Containment Seasonal Activity
You must purchase the seasonal content and complete Operation Midas on the Abandoned Levitan to access Nightmare Containment. This mission is very simple, so you don’t need to prepare for it. Upon completion, you will be transported to HELM where you can find the Crown of Sorrow artifact – interact with it and accept the Nightmare Harvester seasonal artifact to start earning rank rewards and collecting rewards.
Once done, go to the Destination screen and select the Moon. In the bottom left corner of the screen, find the abandoned Leviathan. Select Nightmare Containment and make sure to switch your activity mode from Castellum to the option labeled Containment before pressing the green Start button. This will allow you to pair up players who wish to complete the Nightmare Containment quest, ensuring that there are enough active participants to complete the quest.
Although the game recommends a power level of 1580 for the activity, it will automatically increase your power level to 1570 if you are below that level.
Three levels of nightmarish containment
Nightmare Containment has three levels. The summoning process begins when someone lowers their Nightmare Harvester. You then have five minutes to complete each level. Even if you face many hordes, your HUD will tell you which enemies to target. Throughout the process, enemies will drop small shards called Dread Remnants, which can be used to bind Nightmares.
