According to the Minister of Culture of France, the video game industry is full of anglicisms, which can become an obstacle for non-players to misunderstand this world. Further, everything goes hand in hand with the warning of the local academy that language degradation should not be considered inevitable.

Some video game terms are simply translated and make sense, such as “professional player“Joueur Professionalnel” (professional player).

However, there are times when the translation is unnecessarily complicated, for example, “streamer“”Changes to “joueur-animateur en direct” (live player-animator)”.Cloud Games“Should be written as “jeu video en nuage” (cloud video game) and “eSports” as “jeu video de Competition” (competitive video game).

The new rule applies only to official documents in French. The government does not have the right to enforce a law that prohibits the use of English words and expressions in everyday life and on the Internet..
