Sony has announced that it will host a new State of Play on June 2, 2022, featuring a series of PS5 titles and a “hidden top” of PSVR 2 games.
The June 2022 State of Play will take place at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST / 12pm CEST on June 2, 2022 (June 3). The status of the game, announced on the PlayStation Blog, will take around 30 minutes with updates to existing games and new announcements.
Since this event takes place a week before Summer Games Fest 2022, it looks like Sony won’t be having a big event that week in June, saving some of their big announcements for this show. However, it’s worth noting that State of Play storefronts tend to have smaller listings than Sony’s larger PS5 storefronts.
So while we may have big announcements, it won’t be swamped with new releases and blockbusters. However, some candidates likely to emerge are news on Final Fantasy 16, Horizon Call of the Mountain, and Forspoken.
Specifically, the announcement only mentions third-party games, not first-party games. Thus, God of War Ragnarok may not appear.
State of Play returns next week! Tune in for clarifications, announcements and more on June 2 at 3pm PT: https://t.co/3lqi9GL9VZ pic.twitter.com/NLLTagvgLY

Either way, it’s the start of an exciting gaming season, leading up to Gamescom in late August. Hopefully we will have some big surprises next Thursday!
