When the new horror game The Callisto Protocol was unveiled at The Game Awards 2020 and who was behind it, players were ecstatic. The founder of the Striking Distance studio is none other than Glen Schofield, an experienced American developer who created the Dead Space series. It’s a little ironic that EA’s brand will now directly oppose Schofield’s new title. EA Motive is creating a remake of the first part of Dead Space, which should be released on January 27, 2023.
However, the “competitive” The Callisto Protocol still holds the course for this year, and best of all, we finally got at least some new information. Game Informer magazine presented the cover of the new issue, where we will find a new game from Schofield’s team. We will see the issue of the magazine on Tuesday, and the editors are luring us to talk to the developers and explain the gameplay.
It’s the members of the Game Informer editorial board who have already seen The Callisto Protocol in action and seem to be giving the game a lot of praise. At least if we’re talking about journalist Andrew Reiner, who tweeted the following:
“The gameplay we saw was amazing. Scary, tense and a world I can’t wait to explore. If you like Dead Space…”
Let’s hope we don’t have to wait long for a preview of the game. We should probably wait until the Jeff Keighley Summer Game Festival at the latest. But perhaps the developers will come up with something earlier.
Callisto protocol is for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.
