As expected, the Czech studio Bohemia Interactive today brought the future of the ARMA series closer. Primarily discovery of the name Arma Reforger. This new addition to the popular military simulation series is now available as part of Early Access on both PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Arma Reforger presents the first degree he is studying new enfusion engine. This new technology will also work upcoming ARMA 4the development of which was also confirmed by the studio.
In terms of content and deployment, Arma Reforger will take us to 1980s on the fictional island of Everon. The same environment was offered in the first installment of the series, subtitled Cold War: Assault (originally Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis), so the Reforger series is now returning to that location. The result is a map of 164 km² (of which 51 km² is mainland), the realities of which are inspired by the former Czechoslovakia.
The offer of game modes shows that they are waiting for us only two multiplayer modes. The first one is called Conflict and will bring a cooperative experience in which a team of players will have to work together, complete individual tasks and occupy key positions on the map. In the second mode, called Game Master, players will be able to create their own scenarios with different rules and combat missions. There is no single player campaign planned, which means that Arma Reforger will focus exclusively on multiplayer.
Arma Reforger also aims to help the developers collect player data and feedback, which will then be used to develop a full-fledged fourth part. The authors also provide great attention to modern instrumentswhich should make it easier for moderators to work with community content in the new Enfusion engine.
Arma Reforger currently available in Steam Preview and Game Preview, also through the official Xbox Store. The full version of the game should be out in about a year.
