Riot Games scales down Valorant Deathmatch to combat spawning issues

Earlier this week, via patch 4.03, Riot Games made some major changes to Valorant’s Deathmatch mode in an effort to “fix some of the major frustrations surrounding the spawn system”. On paper, these changes seemed to work, but the reality was a little different. While players say the changes have made things worse, Riot Games has taken bigger steps to make things right. Changes to Valorant Deathmatch spawns continue, but the total number of players has now been reduced from 14 to 12.

Riot Games announced in the latest batch of Valorant patch notes that it has improved spawn location placement and changed the logic of Valorant Deathmatch spawns to address player frustrations with poor spawn placement. appearance in the mod. In fact, a number of “dangerous” spawn sites have been completely removed.

However, these changes proved ineffective, with the respawn time being reduced from 3.0 seconds to 1.5 seconds. Some players are complaining that Valorant Deathmatch is even worse than before. That’s why Riot Games is taking more drastic measures to “soften” the issues by reducing the player count to 12.

This change is live in Valorant now, so expect two fewer reps in your next deathmatch.

Riot Games has not confirmed whether these changes are temporary or permanent game mode changes.

While many players are happy to see Riot Games actively trying to smooth things over, there are still two sides to the debate when it comes to Valorant’s Deathmatch mode. Players who want to use this mode to warm up do not want the tempo of the game to be changed by fewer players. On the other hand, there are players who would like to see their spawning issues resolved.

Either way, it looks like these changes could be a permanent change for Valorant’s Deathmatch mode. We will update you with the latest information on further changes as they become available.
