I’ll say it quickly and easily – The Stanley Parable is a game. which you just have to play. Don’t watch reviews or videos and ideally don’t read anything about it. Just play it and enjoy a few hours of relatively unique entertainment that perfectly combines philosophical ideas, meta-commentary and allusions to pop culture and the video game industry. And everything is wrapped in plain de facto walking game simulator, accompanied by an eternal storyteller. Because that’s the whole game. You go from room to room listening to the omnipresent storytellerwho tells you what to do. But whether you listen to him and go through the left door, for example, as he tells you, or decide that it is better to go through the right one, it’s up to you. And no matter how many different adventures you end up with, it depends on your foresight and experimentation.
But we must note that this is a slow game. It will make you think about the meaning of some of the words and questions asked, your choices and basically spend all your time listening to the monologues. However, it should be noted funny and often quite unconventional monologues. And sometimes even menacingly deep monologues.
But if you’ve played The Stanley Parable and don’t know what the Ultra Deluxe Edition is and if it’s worth buying, then I believe that over time you’ll agree that it pays off. After a while of playing, you will stumble upon a door that will lead you through new content. Moreover, sooner or later it makes sense to walk along the old lines. To say that this is a completely new game is too much. And to say that there are also only “a few” new endings. The developers of Crows Crows Crows were smart and, in addition to new locations, they benefited greatly from what they had prepared and completed a long time ago. In the final content is actually much more than it might seem at first glanceeven if you will be walking through old landscapes for the most part.
But in conclusion – whether you’ve played Stanley Parable or not, The Ultra Deluxe in particular is an experience you shouldn’t miss.. Despite the new engine, what you don’t know is that the game is no longer running on the Source engine, and the narrator has returned to his role so brilliantly that it’s hard to believe it’s been nine years since the game’s original release this year.
There are a few games you wish you could talk so much about, but it makes sense to keep quiet and let you know everything. And we understand that this is by no means a traditional review and recommendation 10 points out of 10 this may seem strange after such an almost meaningless text, but just trust me. If you don’t want action shooter or fast action, but rather a slower game full of stories, you won’t be disappointed with The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe. Whether you have experience with the original version or not.
PS: Watch the video review. We’ve been working on scenes where one very famous voice can be heard for many of you 👀
