Lance McDonald, a well-known data miner on the Soulslike scene, posted a video in which he showed off. the quest from Hand Ring that are not included in the full game content and that Lightless collect dreams of enemies and NPCs Scattered throughout the interregnum.
The mechanic in question is called “Dream Mist” and would allow the player to guess a copy of the dreams of a dormant enemy or NPC thanks to the use of a special fluid. It’s unclear why this content was cut, as several NPCs have dialogues referring to the quest.
Lance McDonald also explains that the quest is linked to an NPC who is not in the game and who will tell Senzaluce how to predict dreams, thereby discovering the “deepest and darkest secrets”. The character would give the player a key item called “.St. Trina’s Crystal BallNecessary and more to collect “Mist of Dreams” from “Enemies”.
In the video, we see McDonald’s offering a sedative drink to the merchant. Castle. After sleeping, a line of dialogue warns the player that the NPC’s sleep is “disturbed by the nightmare of his eyes burned by the Frenzied Flame”. For this reason, McDonald assumes that Dream Mist’s mechanics will allow to explore more of the characters’ secrets and the lore of Elden Ring.
