Falcom will release the next game in the action RPG series Ys, which we can say for your convenience. Yes Xon Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PS4 in japan Until September 30, 2023, just in time to celebrate the brand’s 35th anniversary. Approval came from the Japanese company in its final financial report for shareholders.
Falcom also announced that it plans to release it during the same period. Three games on Nintendo Switch in Japan. So basically there are two titles still shrouded in mystery.
In fact, it’s been known for a while that Falcom is working on a new Ys, but at least now we know the reference platforms and its in-store debut isn’t far away. Unfortunately no further information has been added, but on the other hand, thanks to leaks, a number of interesting details about the plot and gameplay were revealed in June and were later confirmed by an interview given in June by Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo.
Right now, we know that with the Ys X, Falcom will be heavily overhauling the combat system. one-on-one fights, aiming for soul-like intensity but at the same time staying true to the style of the series. Kondo also revealed that the game will be set outside of the Roman Empire, and in this episode, Adol will be roughly the same age as he was in YS I & II. The first official artwork, which you can see in the image above, was also presented.
At this point, it remains to wait for new details about YS X, which we suspect will wait for a long time. Recall that in the spring of 2023 the PS5 version of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be released with all the DLCs.
