Bethesda confirmed this Death Cycle ei dishonourable is set in same universe, thus satisfying fans who have long advocated this theory. This was stated by Deathloop director Dinga Bakaba in an interview with the Xbox Podcast.
In his words, Deathloop takes place many years ahead of the events described in Dishonored: “Yes, we dreamed that the events of Deathloop would happen in the future after Death of the Outsider.”
Arkane He didn’t make it clear because he didn’t want Deathloop to be seen as a sequel, and also because it wasn’t designed that way. According to Bakaba, the development studio envisioned it as one of the possible futures of that world after the Dishonored series.
However, Arkane, despite not publicizing the event, has filled Deathloop with clues connecting it to Dishonored, some hidden, others overt. At this point, we imagine the fans will start chasing them spasmodically.
Deathloop is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. It was a PS5 exclusive title for a year at least on consoles, but now it’s released on Microsoft platforms as well. If so, it’s also playable from Xbox Game Pass.
