Interesting details continue to emerge in the latest interview. Hermen Hulst, president of Sony Worldwide Studiosthese minutes were published by several newspapers at the same time, live service games In development at PlayStation Studios and partners Day one simultaneously on PlayStation and PCFor single players, there is a waiting period of about a year between the PS5 version (and possibly PS4) and the PC version.
The detail in question is linked to other information revealed around this time and specifically refers to 12 live services in development at PlayStation Studios’ first-party teams and linked partners. The goal, obviously, is to immediately expand the player community by launching games that are particularly profitable for live-service style multiplayer games simultaneously on PC and console as a cross-platform.
The same won’t happen with standard single-player games – in which case, PlayStation-exclusive games will stay that way for a relatively long time, Hulst reports. “at least a year” Waiting before we see PlayStation Studios’ first single player on PC as well.
This is a timeframe that’s pretty much in line with what we’ve seen so far for Sony-exclusive products, even if the gaps get shorter in some cases. Clearly Hulst is talking about new games coming out on PS5 and PS4, so there are no rereleases, remasters or remakes that might follow different directions.
It was revealed from the same interview that other PS4 and PS5 cross-gen titles may be on the way, as Hulst doesn’t want to “forget the PS4”.
