According to some Ubisoft job offers, the next Splinter Cell Remake will not be a 1:1 copy of the original work, but rewrites and updates to adapt it to the modern audience.
It is written exactly like this: ” Splinter Cell’s first game Basically, we’re rewriting and updating the story for a modern audience. We want to preserve the spirit and themes of the original game to make our characters and the world more authentic and believable as they explore. As a writer at Ubisoft Toronto, you will join the Narrative team and help create a cohesive and engaging storytelling experience for a new audience of Splinter Cell fans.”
This information comes from a job offer from the company. Ubisoft. As you can read, the idea is to work on Splinter Cell Remake in a way that will keep the core components at a narrative level, but make enough changes to update the final experience and adapt it for a more modern audience: unfortunately this is not let us understand how much of the game needs to be changed to achieve this.
In any case, we’ll have to wait a bit before we find out what kind of changes will be implemented. Splinter Cell Remake was confirmed in December 2021 and nothing has been heard after that. Given the absence of the recently released Ubisoft Forward, we don’t believe we’ll be able to discover anything in a few months.
