Digital Foundry published a video analysis The Last of Us Part 1extensively promotes the work done to update the game graphically with the rebuild. It is a long video in which the new version is compared to the original in both the filmed sequences and the real-time gameplay segments.

Basically, the developers have improved every aspect of the title, which is much better visually. The 3D models have been reworked to look more realistic, the lighting system has been completely overhauled, and the lights now behave more realistically, illuminating characters and settings as they should. This applies to both passive and active arrays. In the latter, there is also a marked improvement in the shadows, which are now much more nuanced. In addition, all liquids have been revised, now much more realistic.

Also more care detail, thanks to more computing power, for example, shadows also reflected in mirrors and much higher quality of particle effects. So overall, the work done is truly remarkable and visually The Last of Us Part 1 looks like a modern title that takes full advantage of cutting-edge graphics technologies.

Digital Foundry doesn’t go so far as to recommend the remake, limiting itself to just stating how excellent the work done on the remake is, leaving players to choose whether they played with the previous version or what they think. the price is too high.
