Good news for fans of Valve’s portable console. Steam Deck will be entitled to its successor. At least that’s what a new brochure released by the firm suggests for the device to launch in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Steam Deck 2 is in development!
At this point, it’s unclear if Valve’s next console will carry that name. We also have no idea of its shape or properties. However, the project seems very real.
In fact, Valve has made that clear.
“This product will be accompanied by hardware and software improvements and iterations as new versions of Steam Deck become available.”
Even better, the studio has said that the next Steam Deck will be even more open than the current model, leaving it to wonder how the developer will react knowing that the device is one of the most open consoles out there right now.
Moreover, in its brochure, Valve again mentioned the famous generic SteamOS installer. Please note that this tool will allow you to install the latest versions of the main operating system of the Steam Deck console on your computer.
In general, it can also be used on similar devices from other providers. GPD and OneXPlayer have already shown interest in this issue.
