The Last of Us Part 1, new video explains why it’s a remake and not a remake

The Last of Us Part 1 this is a remake and not one reform: new video The diary by Naughty Dog explains the issue, listing all the differences with the original and the amount of items redesigned from the ground up.

Alongside the post on the PlayStation Blog that features all the changes made to The Last of Us Part 1’s combat, animation, sound and graphics, here’s a filmed testimonial from the developers showing just how different the remake is from the original.

“Refactoring is just a technical job, this remake was rebuilt from the ground up,” said game director Matthew Gallant. “Whatever we created would be compared not to the original, but to the memories attached to it,” said chief motion picture animator Eric Baldwin.

“It was clear that this project would require a much deeper approach than a simple refactoring,” said lead programmer John Bellomy. “We really wanted to recreate the game with new technology instead of polishing it.
