During the Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live course, publisher Prime Matter and developers of Mad Head Games revealed a new game trailer from Traces on Top.
Scars Above is a dark science fiction themed action adventure game. As Astronaut Kate, we will find ourselves completely isolated on an alien planet that we must explore to discover its mysteries and a way back home.
The video features some exploration and fighting game sequences with the protagonist able to embrace a variety of hyper-technological weapons to face the various threats represented by alien mutants and spooky creatures. “While it doesn’t shine for originality, Scars Above has managed to grab our attention thanks to an interesting core system and an above-average technical industry. Right now it’s hard to say what the true value of Mad Head’s work will be, but it looks more solid than most other “Prime Matter” projects, and it could be surprising. We’ll see.”
Scars Above is currently available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S is in development for Xbox One and PC and no release date has yet been set.
