biomutant may be coming PS5 (and possibly Xbox Series X | S) via a new version developed specifically for next-gen platforms, PSN backendtherefore still certainly unofficial but probable.
Released in May 2021, Experiment 101’s special open-world action adventure has so far been limited to PS4 and Xbox One versions, and is made to work with backward compatibility on new consoles.
But the team made a promise. Native version for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S “in the near future”, without specifying a more precise timing.
We might be there at this point: As some users reported on Reddit, the PSN backend now includes a new Biomutant teaser with ID PPSA06256_00 and concept ID 229899 unlike the originals. a new versionpossibly next generation for PS5.
There are no more precise details and we have to rely on that speculation for now, but finally PS5 and Xbox Series X | Biomutant for S is very likely to be announced, and perhaps even released directly during the Summer Game Festival. As a surprise release from Experiment 101, we await further news from the authors.
We’ve also seen Biomutant do well by recovering costs in a week, so developers are likely to consider continuing the intellectual property or trying something new.
