Released in May 2014, the NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready drivers have become a must-have for gamers with GeForce GPUs. A new video from NVIDIA explains exactly what it takes to get your drivers ready to play.
In a single day, NVIDIA’s Game Ready driver testing process includes over 1,000 different tests for a wide variety of released and upcoming games. That equates to over 1.8 million hours of testing in 2021 alone. By comparison, that’s the equivalent of over 214 years invested in Game Ready Driver quality in one year!
How game-ready drivers are created
The video is accompanied by a new Game Ready driver for Dune: Spice Wars. NVIDIA has also introduced Reflex Stats so gamers can display real-time latency measurement in some of the best shooters.
GeForce Game Ready drivers deliver the best gaming experience because they’re designed in collaboration with game developers and rigorously tested on thousands of desktop and laptop hardware configurations for maximum performance and reliability.
The NVIDIA Game Ready Driver program was built from the ground up as a way to deliver the best possible experience. This program creates synergy with game developers by establishing a regular rhythm of sharing game pre-builds and drivers. NVIDIA is working closely with them to find ways to optimize and resolve issues to ensure the highest quality and performance of the game and the Game Ready driver on launch day.
And while development partners are typically forced to stop work on a release build of a game after reaching its golden milestone (in order to shift the focus to post-release patches and fixes), NVIDIA continues to optimize its driver for the game until release, providing players with an even better experience.” Day-0″.
Given the importance of the video driver to the overall gaming experience, NVIDIA does not release beta versions of its Game Ready drivers. Because released full games are of a higher standard than the same beta games, NVIDIA believes that they only provide release quality drivers. As a result, every Game Ready driver is certified by the Microsoft WHQL program.
At launch, NVIDIA released over 150 Game Ready drivers supporting over 400 games. In 2021 alone, 20 Game Ready drivers were released, supporting 75 games. In addition to the supported games listed, NVIDIA has teams dedicated to Unreal Engine, Unity, and other advanced development software. This ensures that the thousands of indie games released each year, built solely with the tools and features provided by these graphics engines, perform exceptionally well when launched.
Game Ready status is achieved through the work of hundreds of experienced engineers, thousands of test PCs, the pursuit of excellence, massive investments and close collaboration with developers. This exhaustive process ensures that every Game Ready driver is optimized for your favorite new releases month after month.
Introducing Reflex Stats: Automatic and Easy Latency Measurement
Earlier this year, NVIDIA introduced One-click NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer Setup with GeForce Experience, which greatly simplifies the system latency estimation process. NVIDIA now introduces NVIDIA Reflex Statisticswhich allows players to measure a portion of system latency called “PC latency”.
With PC latency, gamers can optimize their game settings and track performance over time by simply enabling the GeForce Experience overlay and selecting the Latency view. You don’t need a Reflex Analyzer monitor to get this latency metric, you just need a game that supports Reflex SDK 1.6.
The following games have already been updated to Reflex SDK 1.6 and support Reflex Stats:
- Vivid memory is endless
- fortnite
- Rust
- valiant
Other updates
Midnight ghost hunt added Reflex support and lowered system latency by up to 40%, making gameplay more responsive on GeForce GPUs.
New GeForce Game Ready drivers have been released for Dune: Spice Wars. Other gaming perks introduced with this driver include:
- Chernobylite gets ray tracing
In its latest post-launch update Chernobyl The Farm 51 studio gets ray traced reflections, translucent reflections, mesh caustics and mesh water caustics. The game already supports DLSS, so GeForce gamers get an unrivaled gaming experience from Chernobyl.
