POLL: The most anticipated game of May 2024 according to Zing.cz readers
In terms of recently released games, April was marked by the release of the PlayStation exclusive Stellar Blade or the launch of the Slovakian city event Vluch Slovakia. But the publication of a medieval strategy game also generated a lot of interest. Lords of the Manorwhich was released in the early access program. Other games include the action RPG No Rest for the Wicked from the creators of the Ori series, the tennis action TopSpin 2K25 from Hangar 13, or a port of the multiplayer action Sea of Thieve for the PlayStation 5 console.
There will also be no shortage of interesting games in May. The main focus of a large group of players will undoubtedly be on the anticipated action adventure. Senua Saga: Hellblade II from Ninja Theory. PC gamers will likely be looking first for the PC version of the previous PlayStation exclusive Ghost of Tsushima, the Director’s Cut. Nintendo fans won’t be bored either: the Japanese company will be releasing a remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
Among other anticipated games, it is worth highlighting the long-developed and several times delayed strategy Homeworld 3, the roguelike action game The Rogue Prince of Persia from the creators of Dead Cells, and a Czech adventure game. Playing Kafka or two racing games in the form of MotoGP 24 and F1 24.

At the beginning of the month, publisher 11 bit studios and developer Odd Meter will present a third-person adventure story called Indika. It takes the player as a young nun to an alternate Russia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. As for the gameplay, the game will mainly involve environmental puzzles and exploration of various environments. But the atmosphere and story should definitely not be left behind.
MotoGP 24

The Italian studio Milestone does not deprive players of a new part of the licensed MotoGP series this year either. Homeworld 3

In the first half of the month, developers from Blackbird Interactive studio in collaboration with Gearbox Publishing will present the long-awaited third part of the Homeworld strategy series. According to the original plan, the game was supposed to be released at the end of 2022. However, several delays pushed the launch back to May of this year. The authors suggest a full-fledged return of the famous series, which will focus on reliable RTS mechanics and a sci-fi setting. You will face battles of numerous space fleets, a 3D landscape and a rich backstory.
The Robber Prince of Persia

Following the recently released platformer Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, fans of this famous series are in for another game. Specifically, it will be a spin-off of The Rogue Prince of Persia, which was revealed just last month. The developers behind the game are Evil Empire, a studio that is best known for its award-winning roguelike Metroidvania Dead Cells. It is from this game that The Rogue Prince of Persia is based to some extent. Prim will play by the familiar rules of 2D platformers, supplemented with colorful stylization and rogue-lite mechanics.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut – PC Version

Sony will release another game from its library of exclusive games on PC. After the Uncharted, Horizon or Ratchet & Clank series, this time PC gamers will be waiting for the action adventure Ghost of Tsushima, which will be released directly on PC in the full version of Director’s Cut.
Although the original game was developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the port itself was once again developed by Nixxes Software, which has specialized in this area in recent years. The PC version will feature official Czech localization in the form of subtitles, technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3 or Intel XeSS, and full support for the DualSense controller.
Senua Saga: Hellblade II

In the second half of the month, the expected exclusive from the Microsoft camp will be released in the form of the adventure game Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, which was developed by the studio Ninja Theory. The British team previously attracted attention mainly with Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice from 2017, which is followed by the second part.
However, it is only thanks to the involvement of Microsoft, which is promoting the second Hellblade II as one of its significant exclusives, that the sequel has proven to be much more demanding. In addition to PC and Xbox Series X/S, the game will also be available for preview on Xbox/PC Game Pass on release day.

Prague-based Charles Games is best known for its historically accurate adventure games such as Attentat 1942 and Svoboda 1945. In the upcoming game Playing Kafka, the developers have drawn inspiration from the life and work of the writer Franz Kafka. In terms of genre, it will once again be an adventure game in which you will encounter impenetrable intrigues, tricky turns and conversations that seem to be devoid of meaning. The game will be released for free on PC and mobile platforms with Android and iOS systems.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

With the end of the life cycle of the Nintendo Switch console, the Japanese company Nintendo has focused its attention primarily on remakes of old games. This group also includes the upcoming game Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which was originally released in 2004 on the GameCube. It is an RPG that takes you into a paper world. The individual game mechanics are also associated with this concept. The improved version will bring more modern graphics and a soundtrack.
F1 24

At the very end of May, developers from the British studio Codemasters will present the new year of the F1 racing series. The authors promise progress in the field of physics and control, an expanded career mode or the presence of selected legendary drivers from the past.
However, for many regular players, the biggest attraction will remain the current licensed content, which in addition to Formula 1 itself will also offer junior Formula 2. In addition to licensed teams and drivers, there will of course be a large list of tracks that replicates the current calendar of the queen of motorsports.
