Board Game Review Bulanchi: Relax in a Small Room

Bulánci already has one board, but I’m not sure about its durability. It’s a purely card game that never fails, but it’s just not insured against it. Bulánci: Rest in a Room is another board game from a well-known brand. The following points will tell you how things are in terms of gameplay and whether it’s worth paying attention to.

In a small room, Bulanchi Rest tries to follow in the footsteps of the famous shooter as best as possible.

Probably everyone who has ever played the video game Bulánci remembers that it was not the most complicated project. In short, you were given a tablet in your hands, with which you walked around the map and mowed down enemies. The authors of this article do not deviate too much from the well-known formula. So here is one fundamental difference, at the very beginning, as in other games, you have the opportunity to choose a “character” different from the rest. Each pillow has a certain number of lives, space for equipment, as well as action points needed to perform individual actions. And, of course, there is a special ability that you should think about, because in most cases, others will not remind you that you should use this bonus element against them.

Once you have made your choice, you can place your hero on the playing field, where nothing will stop him from fighting for his life. He is helped by cards that in certain cases enhance a one-time improvement, and in other cases – a permanent one. For example, such sheets are an element with which you can protect yourself from injuries, and this is almost always useful. In the card menu, you can also find weapons and passive improvements. Thanks to this, a person can even think a little about how to form his strategy according to the weapon and improvements that fell into his hand.

Each player can carry a maximum of seven cards. If you have more, you must throw away or use the pieces you own. A person is also allowed to change cards, but the more you change them, the worse your turn will be. During your turn, you can perform a shift as one of the possible actions. Another alternative is a move in which you move the pillows horizontally or vertically across the playing surface.

The last option is shooting. After all, it can’t be missing from the tabletop version of the cult shooter! Characters can get different weapon cards that require different ammunition. However, if you put them, you can count on them always giving you a different effect. With a shotgun, for example, you will cover a much larger area than with a spinner, but with it you can count on the fact that the enemies standing behind you will catch it poorly. After someone kills you, no one prevents you from respawning and getting to work until all lives are exhausted.

The weapon format is well-designed here. The game itself ends when only one Bulánca remains. Interestingly, in addition to the basic mode, you can enrich the Bulánca Rest game in a small room with several modifications that slightly adjust the gameplay.

Moves for the game Bulanchi Rest in the room is decent

Already when I published a review dedicated to the game Bulánci: Special Units, I thought a lot about the reasons why the studio behind this title decided to go the card route. Plus, of course, the price tag was too high. Then, when an alternative appeared in the form of the game Bulánci: Relax in a Small Room, I could not miss it and in the end, I was probably right. This is because this title, in essence, offers everything you can expect from a product of this brand.

In practice, this means that the player gets his pillow, after which he rushes towards the enemies, armed with various cards and above all the desire to kill. Shooting is the same as movement, just like in a video game. Difficulty does not matter here, so if you, as a player, have a desire to bring the Bulánky video game to your table, the game Bulánky: Rest in the small room is an alternative that is definitely worth paying attention to due to the processing of components, but also a successful and, most importantly, undemanding gameplay.
