The International Amateur League (FIGC) announced the fourth tournament. LND eCup Tournament. Featuring Pro Club virtual football teams representing Italian football clubs from Serie A to the Third Category, this esports event aims to further increase the passion for virtual football.
Inspired by the historic FA Cup, the LND eCup has established itself as a pillar of the eSports world in Italy. It brings together amateur and professional teams in an exciting 11v11 competition at EAFC24, available in cross-play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Santino Lo Presti, President of the LND Esports Commissionhighlighted the importance of this tournament as a symbol of the NLD’s commitment to inclusivity and innovation, striving to overcome geographical, social and physical barriers and promote the values of football in a young and passionate community. “By representing real companies, we guarantee a strong sense of belonging. The tournament is divided into four main stages, with matches taking place every Wednesday at 23:00. Additional information will be provided in the official press release N.1 of the competition, which will be published next Saturday, February 10, 2024:
First qualification stage (online) – February-March 2024: All virtual football teams of amateur clubs participating in the eSerie E regional championships (Excellence, Promotion, First, Second and Third categories, Futsal and Beach Soccer), as well as Serie D clubs without eSports teams already participating in the eSerie D championship progress. Registration is open until February 16, 2024.
Second qualifying stage (online) – March-May 2024: At the end of the 23/24 Championship, the 12 teams that passed the first stage will join the 20 eSerie D teams: fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh, who took places in 5 groups.
The third stage – final (online) – April – May 2024: 8 teams of the second stage, 15 eSerie D teams (first, second and third places in 5 eSerieD 23/24 groups) based on the results of the championship and 9 virtual Pro Club football teams representing professional clubs of the Series. A, will be admitted. B and C are those who manage to register before March 15, 2024. In the event that 9 professional teams do not register, one or more teams will be restarted based on the best position achieved during the second stage. and a place in their eSerie D group according to the following criteria: position in the standings, points scored, goal difference, goals scored, goals conceded, draw.
Fourth phase (live) – First week of June 2024: The four finalist teams will compete for the title in a Final Four, the formula of which will be announced later.
At all stages, matches will be played with great intensity and strategy, bringing the passion of virtual football to its maximum expression. More details will be provided after February 16th.
