11 bit Studios is extremely proud to present the first full look at Frostpunk 2 gameplay after sharing a teaser at the PC Gaming Show Most Wanted in November. It’s the long-awaited sequel to 11-Bit Studios’ original city-building title, which was praised for its skillful combination of strategic gameplay and unconventional emotional storytelling.
Releasing next year, Frostpunk 2 continues to focus on the story of people facing harsh realities. As in life, some people have more driving force than others, but when you’re trying to ensure the sustainability and survival of your city, that force brings little relief.
As a Steward in Frostpunk 2, you oversee an ever-growing metropolis and must carefully evaluate the needs and demands of your community. Its residents are concerned about the fate of their children and crimes on the streets. They complain of unhealthy poverty, exacerbated by industrial growth, but they need places to work.
What if you can’t pay for your work with food and shelter or take care of your health? It’s impossible to please everyone, and when radical groups begin to emerge, all it takes is a small spark for simmering tensions to explode.
Thirty years after the Great Storm, tyranny is over. Delegates can vote, with or without specific beliefs, to pass laws that carry out the will of the people and lead the entire city towards one of many futures.
All this is accompanied by a mantra repeated in everyone’s mind: The city must not fall.
But can you persist and witness his triumph?
Frostpunk 2 will release on PC via Steam in the first half of 2024 and will be available on day one with PC Game Pass, followed by Xbox Game Pass upon launch on Xbox Series X|S. Further additions to Game Pass from the studios’ 11-bit portfolio will be revealed at a later date.
