With over 3 million pre-registered fans, Monster Hunter Now is designed to deliver fun and excitement in every region of the world. The game can now be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play in nine languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, English, Korean, Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

Check out the new features announced today:

Augmented reality camera

Using the AR camera, majestic monsters appear directly in the real world, interacting with players. Hunters can see their reactions and easily post on social media.

Group hunt

Monsters that are difficult to defeat will not be a problem. Group hunting allows players to enlist the help of other hunters nearby. The system will automatically unite players into full teams. This function works in conjunction with two others:

  • Friends: You can make new friends by using a QR code, a hunter code, or by referring players through invitations. Players will not only be able to play together, but also earn rewards such as paintballs and others. Multiplayer mode allows up to four other nearby hunters to join in the fun!
  • Hunting groups: These are fixed teams formed by several friends to overcome difficulties together, even if they are in different locations. Each participant can invite others to defeat monsters together.

Like other Monster Hunter games, Monster Hunter Now makes hunting easier by allowing hunters to create loadouts and weapons, making it easier to switch between them during gameplay.

With Sets, a feature that was highly requested during testing, players can select weapons, armor, and other equipment before facing a monster, allowing them to have specific combinations for each type of hunt.

“The day has finally arrived for Monster Hunter Now to ship across the planet. Monster Hunter Now is a unique Monster Hunter game that brings simple, incredibly in-depth hunting to mobile devices, as well as real-time action with friends. Whether you’re a new hunter or a Monster Hunter veteran, we believe you’ll have an incredible experience,” said Ryozo Tsujimoto, Monster Hunter Series Producer at Capcom.

“Monster Hunter Now is the perfect combination of Niantic’s philosophy of real-world exploration and the fun of hunting and fighting monsters with friends,” said Kei Kawai, Chief Product Officer. “Designed with mobile in mind, the game is easy for beginners but challenging to master. We hope it honors this historic franchise and will delight fans for years to come.”

Niantic worked closely with Capcom to create a game that would be true to the roots of the Monster Hunter world, but would also be accessible to all types of players, even on mobile platforms.

To celebrate the launch, the companies teamed up with Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK to create the “Make It Out Alive” theme and video, which shows a hunter running through the streets of Tokyo and meeting the devil at the famous Shibuya Crossing.

Key Features: In Monster Hunter Now, players take on the role of a hunter and go on an adventure to hunt powerful monsters that appear in the real world. Since the game was created for mobile platforms, fans can easily enjoy the hunt by joining forces with others in the area. Monsters are more likely to appear in parks and other high-traffic areas, allowing hunters to band together and answer the call of the hunt.

Hunt monsters in the real world: Players can embark on a global adventure to pursue and hunt the most fearsome monsters from the Monster Hunter universe as they appear in our world. Hunters will have to create powerful weapons and team up with others to defeat giant and powerful monsters.

A true monster hunting experience, carefully adapted for mobile devices: Hunters can discover a wide variety of monsters depending on the surrounding habitat – forests, deserts, swamps – and face a terrifying solo hunt. Alternatively, they can join hunting parties to take down giant monsters. Streamlined controls and graphics that are as close to the series as possible allow you to hunt wherever you are.

See the monsters around you using an AR camera: With this exclusive feature, fans can experience what it’s like to see these iconic monsters appear in the real world.

Outwit your hunt in 75 seconds: Players can master all the weapons, create loadouts and improve their skills, as well as exploit the weaknesses and elements at their disposal to win the hunt!

Hunt for tags even with a phone in your pocket: With Adventure Sync, players can use paintballs to tag monsters walking around the city and then hunt them down at any time. While exploring, Palico can mark monsters with paintballs even when they are not playing. This will allow you to find fighters later, ensuring the action never ends.
