Warner Bros. Games today announced Smoke and Rain as new playable characters joining the main roster of Mortal Kombat 1, the latest chapter in the acclaimed video game franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios.
Focusing on the fight between Scorpion and Sub-Zero to establish a target for the Lin Kuei in Liu Kang’s new Mortal Kombat universe, the video introduces Smoke, a member of an ancient warrior clan wielding stealth and practical magic.

With close ties to Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Smoke takes on the clan’s mission and joins his Lin Kuei brothers in protecting Earthrealm. The trailer also shows for the first time Rain, Outworld’s archmage, who has turned his mastery of water magic into a ferocious weapon and now hopes to learn the darkest and most powerful sorcery in the realms. Additionally, Sektor, Cyrax, Frost, and Scorpion can be seen in the video as new team fighters that provide a wide range of support moves and abilities during matches.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest entry in the critically acclaimed Mortal Kombat video game franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios. It presents a reborn universe and a new story with legendary heroes and villains like never before.
