Congratulations to Lilith, a new Diablo 4 beta is coming up, though not quite by name. It’s fair; Your wait to return to Blizzard’s next fantasy RPG has been shortened significantly as the team announces a Diablo 4 “slam server” to help you fuel up before Lilith’s full arrival in June.
The announcement was made during a Diablo 4 Developer Update livestream featuring Game Director Joe Shelley, Associate Director Joseph Piepiora, Community Manager Adam Fletcher, and Diablo YouTube and Twitch streamer CJ “Rhykker” myozzi.
The Diablo 4 Slam tournament will take place from May 12 to 14. Fletcher urges as many players as possible to join in as the team wants to stress test this weekend and push the Blizzard game to its player limit. “Come on, hit our servers,” Sheli repeats with a smile.
This new benchmark will also give you an idea of what to expect in the game’s launch loot rates, as it won’t have the inflated drop rates seen in the previous two public beta weekends.
World Boss Ashava will appear starting May 13 at 9:00am PDT / 12:00pm EDT / 5:00pm BST / 6:00pm CET, and every three hours thereafter until May 14 at 9:00 a.m. ET. PDT / 12:00 pm EST / 5:00 pm PT / 6:00 pm CET. Kill the world boss at level 20 and you will receive the Ashava Steed trophy, which can be equipped on your horse in the full game.
You’ll also have a chance to earn the same Diablo 4 Beta rewards as the previous Public Beta, including two unique player titles and an adorable Wolf Pup Beta Pack.
Make sure you’re ready for the upcoming server stress test and of course the full Diablo 4 release date by making sure your PC meets the system requirements for Diablo 4. You’ll also want to read the early release notes for the Diablo 4 update to see which ones. Blizzard makes the changes after the first round of public testing.
