This Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU is also a Spider-Man cosplayer

Graphics cards like the recently released Nvidia RTX 4070 look a bit similar, but what if your GPU could be wrapped in spandex? Well, Palit and IEM Modding have teamed up to create a Spider-Man spinner board, and the combination of components is due to the power of 3D printing.

The RTX 4070 is arguably Nvidia’s best graphics card, mainly due to lacking the dimensions of the original PlayStation 2. Unlike the monstrous GPU featured in our Nvidia RTX 4090 review, the new GeForce 70 variant takes up two slots, but still wears the same Founder’s Edition clothes. The custom variants also come with mostly the same uniforms, which is why we’re excited about the Spider-Man-inspired IEM Modding project.

Finalized TwitterPlait is using the RTX 4070 Spider-Man GPU to promote Maker, a campaign to help enthusiasts dress up their cards. By visiting the manufacturer’s website, you can get 3D bezel files that will lay the foundation for a custom cover. Simply put, you don’t have to buy expensive special-edition components to make your graphics card shine, and IEM’s heroic example illustrates why that’s cool.

On the IEM YouTube channel, a video shows the process of transforming the RTX 4070 into everyone’s favorite webhead. While anyone with a 3D printer can technically print their own compatible cover, the team uses special coatings and complex painting to turn the bezel into a unique addition.

Unsurprisingly, you won’t be able to download 3D files for the Spider-Man faceplate, as it’s not an officially licensed product. However, if you have your own printer and Dual RTX 4070 at home, you can create your own design using the Maker template. Naturally, you won’t be able to use the covers on any other custom boards or on the Nvidia Founders Edition, which means the project is why you should choose the Palit model.

We’re still waiting for the RTX 4060 to arrive, but hopefully we’ll be able to play with Palit as far as the entry-level GPU is concerned as soon as it arrives. Not interested in component cosplay? Why not check out our best graphics cards, as the list includes high-end pixel art monsters and low-cost heroes?
