The new Valheim update from the game’s lead artist shows off some very exciting potential additions to Viking’s co-op survival game. How they can be used is up to interpretation, but the most immediate thought is some kind of motorized vehicle. The presence of the Obliterator, a tool that uses lightning to burn other objects into coal, suggests that we could be looking at a machine that can use coal for transportation purposes.
When asked about the potential for a “powered version,” Eyre teases, “The prototype is live, it’s running and it’s running.” This would obviously be a pretty spectacular addition to the world of Valheim, though after the magical tools added in the Misty Lands of Valheim update, I suppose almost anything could be justified in some other way.
Other players are simply excited to be able to use more mechanical tools in their Walheim builds, with some suggesting that the gears could be used to create a drawbridge. Another response to Eyre tweeter comments a regular commenter who asked for a bike, joking that he would be “very excited”.
Of course, this is all hypothetical at this point, so don’t get your hopes up too high just yet. But sharing these tools on Twitter is sure to get the community talking. Regardless of the actual outcome, we will likely see some forms of these new skins appear in the full game in the future.
