With the Minecraft Legends release date just days away, Microsoft has detailed everything you need to know to prepare for launch, including region-specific Minecraft Legends release times on Steam and PC Game Pass. Now we also know what the install size will be and when you can start preloading the strategy game.
Our Minecraft Legends gameplay preview at GDC 2023 inspired us to try the full game, which brings the familiar Minecraft world and creatures into a whole new playstyle, following in the footsteps of Minecraft’s Devil-like dungeons. You can play the campaign solo or in cooperative mode, or join the PvP mode, where two teams of four share the roles of builder and collector and try to destroy each other’s bases.

Minecraft Legends launches on April 18 at 9:00am PDT / 12:00pm EDT / 5:00pm BST / 6:00pm CET. We have compiled all the launch times for each region in the table below so that you can quickly find the times for your region:

Minecraft Legends install size and preload time
You can pre-download Minecraft Legends right now from Steam or the Microsoft Xbox Store if you pre-order the game or are a PC Game Pass subscriber. We have tested the Xbox Store version and can confirm that The pre-release Minecraft Legends install size is 10.71 GB. However, it is possible that the Day 1 patch will increase this value, so be sure to leave some headroom. You’ll also want to check if you meet the system requirements for Minecraft Legends.
The standard version of Minecraft Legends is $39.99 / £34.99, while the premium version of Minecraft Legends is $49.99 / £44.99. The Deluxe Edition also includes one additional hero skin and four skins for your Minecraft Legends mounts at launch, with one additional mount skin planned to be available at a later date. If you’re a Game Pass subscriber, Minecraft Legends is free as part of your subscription.
