Genshin Impact’s birthday note to Aloy confirms that she’s still in Teyvat minding her own business, though we never see her in any capacity. She was added to the game anime after a one-time collaboration with Horizon Zero Dawn in September 2021 for the version 2.1 update. Since then, players have not been able to collect Constellations for a character to upgrade her abilities.
To get constellations for a character, you need to get character duplicates, which is usually done by shooting banners multiple times. Aloy was a collaborative gift, so no one had the ability to get multiple copies to get to C6, the maximum number of Constellations for each character.
It’s easy for us to forget about her, especially since she’s never been mentioned or seen anywhere in the game, but today, on her birthday, she sent a letter to players announcing that she had joined the Adventurer’s Guild and he was currently taking command, like the other main characters in the game.
“At first, they just gave me some trivial tasks, but after seeing me take down three Ruin Guardians right in front of them, they seemed to recognize my abilities,” Aloy said.
I’m sure players would love to interact with her to some degree to see this progress, but that would likely require voice work and other collaboration hurdles that HoYoverse might not want to jump through.
At the very least, it would be nice to have a way to fully upgrade it, because in its current form, there’s no way to see its full potential. Instead of his “Constellation” text, we get a message saying “the time hasn’t come yet for that person’s corner of the night sky to light up.”
This means that you might receive these updates in the future, but until then you can use other Cryo characters, Ayaka and Shenhe, in the banners for the second half of Genshin Impact version 3.5.
