Elden Ring becomes an amazing FPS game with a new mod available now

Even though it’s only been out for a year, there are already some great Elden Ring mods out there. Talented modders are making FromSoftware’s best game even better, and now you can even travel back in time to one of the Souls developers’ protogames, King’s Field, turning Elden Ring into an FPS game. No, I’m not kidding. .

First Person Souls was developed and released by modder Dasaav last month, and it’s some really amazing work. Elden Ring’s core gameplay has been tweaked to work alongside the established open-world gameplay, with a few tweaks.

Expect slightly different crosshairs, attack direction indicators, head tracking animations, and some tweaks to your movement and gameplay feel to make it more FPS-friendly.

You can even go in first person and third person independently after installing the Elden Ring mod, and first person also has a free view mode if you want to get lots of nice screenshots. The movement is inspired by FromSoftware’s previous game King’s Field, which allows you to attack while controlling your movement.

While the camera is attached to the character model’s head for some movement, running, zooming for ranged weapons, and player hand movement are all changed to be smooth in first-person view, achieving a balance between changing small details and Elden Ring remains mechanically intact.

The fact that this Elden Ring FPS mod aims to run the game completely in first person while modifying it just enough to give it an old school King’s Field feel is just awesome. This breathes new life into The Lands Between while leaving the essence of the adventure intact.
