Asus Rog Ally turns out to be real Alternative to the steam bridge, since the manufacturer of the component has just confirmed that this is not an April Fool’s Day prank. The gaming laptop PC will not only be compatible with Windows 11, but you can also plug it into one of the best graphics card options to give your desktop a real boost.
News of the competitor Asus Rog Ally Steam Deck came on a bad day, but that was the company’s plan from the start. When you think about it, releasing a “too good to be true” product on the Day of Disbelief makes sense because it’s one big double hoax. That’s not to say the new PDA promises anything fancy, but it does have a few things that could shake up the portable PC gaming scene.

Considering the premium vibe of the Asus Rog Ally, the device itself is likely to cost a lot more than the Steam Deck. Other portable Windows-based Steam Deck alternatives like the Onexplayer Mini are $1,229, so price-wise it won’t be a competitor at all. However, Asus’ advancements in the best gaming laptops should help it grab a piece of the pie in the laptop market, which could allow it to produce cheaper models in the future.
In fact, if Asus manages to put itself in the portable spotlight, there’s no reason a SteamOS version of Rog Ally couldn’t arrive in the future.
