The Resident Evil 4 Remake streamer on Twitch ditched the classic PC gamepads in favor of an actual chainsaw controller, and they even managed to beat the game’s campaign 100%. No one was hurt during the 30 hours of play, but residents filed noise complaints with the local council.
Before playing Resident Evil 4 Remake, Twitch streamer Stottyburn played top horror games using a normal PC controller. However, after a fever dream about a Resident Evil 4 GameCube chainsaw controller, the creator realized he could take his channel to the next level by investing in the actual product.
“Once you get rid of the exhaust, it’s not that bad,” Stottiburn told PCGamesN in an intense interview. “Now I can’t imagine using a normal controller to play games, and I only had to replace the monitor once.”
Although we did see a streamer play Elden Ring using a harp, the nature of the chainsaw controller setup is unclear. “That works!” exclaims Stottiburn. “It’s almost how it should be.” Our gaming gear experts had a hard time figuring out exactly how the power tool connects to your PC, but it looks like it’s just connected with a USB cable and washi tape.
Sadly, clips of the designer playing RE4 Remake with a chainsaw are no longer streaming on Twitch, and his wife has since commented on the situation. In an email, she reveals that Stotti began wearing burlap on her head and began yelling aggressively in Spanish during broadcast sessions. The local council also contacted the home with a noise complaint letter stating that repeatedly watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not “socially acceptable behaviour”.
Now that the streamer is 100% done with the horror remake, she’s supposed to be wielding a chainsaw in a dark room. Despite this, several companies have offered to sponsor the creator’s future projects, which should help all streaming accessories involved in future projects.
We need to know more about Resident Evil 4 Remake’s weird chainsaw rig before we can add it to our list of the best PC controllers. However, we think the streamer has a bright future and you can find his next game under the new name, DrSalvadorPlays.
