WWE champion, record-breaking philanthropist, Hollywood star, and one-man meme machine John Cena doesn’t necessarily come across as someone who would play golf. But these are video games, and if we can get a full endless runner or controller based on Pepsiman’s Wu-Tang Clan logo (yes, it exists), then we can definitely add The Doctor of Thuganomics to PGA Tower 2K23. Get ready for screams of “You can’t play with me” when the WWE Champion arrives on the Steam sports game just in time for a free trial.
Starting April 7, John Cena will join Tiger Woods, Colin Morikawa, and non-golfer Michael Jordan on the expansive PGA Tour 2K23 roster. Clad in red, white, and blue clothing (naturally) and carrying enormous propelling force, Cena’s main drawback is his reduced shooting accuracy.
As you’d expect from a guy who made a living smashing folding chairs on people, he’s got enough muscle to send the ball down the fairway, but can falter when it comes to hitting the green.
To celebrate the arrival of the Champion, PGA Tour 2K23 will be free on Steam from April 6 at 10:00am PST/1:00pm EST/6:00pm GMT until April 10. at the same time. If you are in the AEDT region, PGA Tour 2K23 will be free on Steam from April 7 at 4:00 am ET until April 11 at 4:00 am ET..
It’s hard to say where this ranks on the list of crazy celebrity-video game crossovers.
