Buckle up because Forza Horizon 5 now supports DLSS 3 and will help pave the way with Frame Generation. While the GeForce tool is only officially compatible with 40-series graphics cards, Nvidia says it will be able to “break the 120fps barrier at 4K resolution on all maxed settings” using the power of AI scaling.
Nvidia DLSS 3 gives major graphics card contenders an edge in the race against AMD, thanks in large part to Frame Generation technology. This setting effectively fills any frame rate gaps during gameplay with AI-generated visuals, helping to push frame rates beyond its capabilities. As AMD works to make its FidelityFX Super Resolution upscaler a true contender with its Fluid Motion Frames technology, discovery support for Forza Horizon 5 proves that Nvidia’s DLSS 3 shortlist is growing.
In a press release Nvidia Says Forza Horizon 5 DLSS 3 Support Is Available Starting Today. The company says this feature will lower the bar for 4K gaming at 120fps, which will benefit setups that include one of the best gaming monitor options with higher bezels, but this could end up compromising fidelity in the long run.
By combining Nvidia DLSS 3 with the best settings from Forza Horizon 5, you can take your performance to the next level. Again, you’ll need a GPU, which was tested in our Nvidia RTX 4080 review, but access to the GeForce Tricks Pack GPU should become cheaper once the RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 release date hits.
It may be overkill, but the fact that PlayGround Games uses DLSS 3 could bode well, as it could mean Fable 4 will get the same treatment. However, it seems that developers often go for DLSS 2 integration first, as frame generation doesn’t lower The Last of Us’s system requirement bar when unlocked on Steam. In other words, it’s hard to say which games will actually benefit from support for this sophisticated AI technology, so we’ll just have to wait.
If you are having trouble running the best racing game leader, you might want to double check Forza Horizon 5 system requirements. It needs an update.
