Want to get a 500Hz monitor before the next Counter Strike 2 release date? Well, Valve’s multiplayer might not take full advantage of the new standard, because coming up with a proper frame rate feels like a chore. That doesn’t mean you’ll ever have to go all-out for triple-digit frame rates in Counter Strike 2, but even the mighty Nvidia RTX 4090 won’t necessarily saturate screens as quickly as the Alienware AW2524H.
Counter Strike 2 could be the next best FPS game on the esports scene, so it’s natural to assume that gamers will be looking for higher frame rates than ever before. Naturally, manufacturers are already gearing up to help the industry reach new levels of performance, with 500Hz displays debuting alongside GPUs like the one featured in our Nvidia RTX 4090 review.
However, judging by early gameplay previews from Twitch streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesek, maintaining 500+ fps in Counter Strike 2 could be challenging. In a recent show, a Canadian content creator turned on the frame rate counter with tooltips and the frame rate basically fluctuated between 200 and 400 fps.
For context, Shroud uses a Maingear MG-1 gaming PC with an RTX 4090 and an Intel Core i9-13900K. In other words, it’s equipped with the best graphics card and processor combination on the market, so you’d think it would be enough to keep up with the 500Hz refresh rate. That doesn’t seem to be the case though, and it could mean that the new high-speed esports screens are too advanced for the current setup.
Of course, this is just speculation and the frame rate situation may change after the official release of Counter Strike 2. It is also possible that the Shroud settings are not fully adjusted to reach 500 fps when the transmitter uses Asus ROG Swift 1440P 360Hz Monitor.
We can’t wait to get our hands on the Alienware AW2524H and Counter Strike 2 monitor, and only time will tell if the 500Hz refresh rate panels are worth the investment. perfectly matches the features of your gaming PC.
