Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenary Mode it’s a fan-favorite post-game mode from the long-running series, but it’s missing from Resident Evil 4 Remake. Luckily, to celebrate the release of the long-awaited remake, Capcom has confirmed that the mode is on the way.
The Resident Evil 4 Remake release date has finally arrived, bringing back what is considered one of the best PC games for a new generation. We join Leon Kennedy after the destruction of Raccoon City as he finds himself stranded in Spain among the terrifying Ganado-infested Las Plagas. While we still don’t know how Mercenaries will play in the remake, the launch trailer for the survival horror game shows that the mode is coming soon.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries release date
The Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries release date is April 7. As seen in the official Resident Evil 4 Remake launch trailer, the Mercenaries return in Resident Evil 4 Remake as free post-launch DLC.
So while it won’t be available when the game ends just a few hours after launch, you only have a two-week wait. The content will be free for owners of the base game, as confirmed by Resident Evil 4 Remake promotional producer Edwin Edso on the PlayStation Blog.
Details of the “Mercenaries” mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake
All we’ve seen in the latest Mercenaries DLC is the name of the game mode against a backdrop of the Spanish “Pueblo”, in which you first meet cattle. Presumably, like the original Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries mode, you’ll have multiple maps to choose from, including the town itself. We can also only speculate on the playable characters at this point, but Leon, Ada, Krauser, and Wesker are all in the original, so we hope they’ll return in the remake.
What we do know for sure is that the reward for completing The Expendables will be different. In the original, earning 60,000 points for each of the four characters netted you the Hand Cannon, one of Resident Evil 4’s best late-game weapons. However, while the Arm Cannon is still one of the unlockables in Resident Evil 4 in the new version, this is now a reward for completing the game in Pro mode without using the additional weapon. As soon as we know more about the rewards to be had in Mercenaries and how this mode matches up with the original, we’ll let you know.
That’s all you need to know about the Resident Evil 4 Mercenaries mode release date, so you’ll have plenty of time to get the most out of the base game before its release.
