According to an update from Bungie, Destiny 2 Threshers in the popular FPS game has been nerfed. The Cabal’s powerful flying ships have been a liability to players who have complained about their ability to shoot Guardians since Lightfall’s release just over three weeks ago. Teshers’ projectiles can seek out targets, making it nearly impossible for Destiny 2 players to hide or dodge them, resulting in a near-guaranteed kill.

The Bungie team implemented the changes as part of the Destiny 2 Hotfix 7.0.0.6 update. There’s a line in the patch notes: “Fixed an issue that caused Cabal scouts to deal more damage than intended.” Judging by Bungie’s choice of words, it seems that the airships were dealing extra damage due to a bug, and the team never intended for them to be as powerful as they were. However, their high damage frustrated players trying to perform actions on Neomun and they were the subject of many memes suggesting they were too powerful.

One of the many difficulty issues that players have been complaining about in the game in recent weeks is the fins. Players continue to share their frustrations on Legendary Lost Sector difficulty. While a recent TWAB noted that Bungie would be relaxing the Lost Sector requirements to earn Destiny 2 Guardian ranks, and that the team also improved the drop rate of exotic loot in response to criticism, Bungie has yet to resolve its overall difficulty.

Prior to the release of Lightfall, Destiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn said that the Bungie team would make the game more difficult in response to player feedback that some of the activities were too easy. However, the changes have also caused a backlash from players who are happy with the way gameplay is streamlined, saying that Mars Heist: Battleground Nightfall and missions like Destiny’s legendary secret mission Avalon from the exotic quest 2 Vexcalibur are too difficult. .

Bungie promises a mid-season weapon balance update that could address player feedback that primary weapons don’t seem viable in many PvE activities. More viable weapons could make the content easier for weaker and newer players.

However, Bungie has yet to address these other multiplayer difficulty issues. It’s too early to tell if changes like the devastating power change in the patch will affect player retention. However, Guardians made it clear that when it came to adjusting the game’s difficulty for Lightfall, the developers’ attempt at balancing resulted in too much shifting in the opposite direction.
