Genshin Impact’s Dehya and Cyno banners worked more or less as expected. Looking at their poor overall sales scores in the first half of the anime game’s version 3.5 update, it seems that none of them have become fan favorites. It’s an expected result given that Dehya’s fans have launched the #FixDehya hashtag to draw attention to how unimpressive he is for a five-star character.
So far, HoYoverse has not made any significant changes to Dehya’s kit amid the noise from fans. Players had a similar reaction when Zhongli was introduced as Geo’s first five-star character. The community found it seriously lacking until HoYoverse decided to beef it up shortly after its release.
That time has not yet come for Dehya, and there is a chance it may never come. As such, fans are spending far less on it than other recent five-star lineups. It also doesn’t help that Cino isn’t the most popular character to film – he plays the role of him solidly, but most of the people who loved him probably filmed for him when he first came out.
Dehya and Qino’s numbers below are in stark contrast to recent iterations of Hu Tao and Yelan, where players even intended to get both characters with their high-tier weapons. And that’s not to mention the fact that some even tried to bring Elan to C6.
The figures above come from GenshinLab, a site that uses data from the Chinese app store to estimate sales for this large part of the RPG community.
Dehya and Qino managed to earn around $12,934,126 (£10,566,534), almost four times less than Hu Tao and Yelan at the top of the ranking.
Following the release of Dehya and Cino, Genshin Impact version 3.5 now features a cryogenic trio of Ayaka, Shenhe, and Miki in its second half banners.
