The popular roguelike game Sword of the Necromancer is currently free for anyone to use Opera GX. All you have to do is download the browser, go to the GX Games website, create a free account, then click “claim” on the Sword of the Necromancer page and you’ll be able to play in the browser indefinitely.
If you haven’t heard of Sword of the Necromancer, it’s one of the best indie games out there, with some similarities to classic Zelda or Hyper Light Drifter games. You play as a young bandit named Tama who is trying to revive a dead princess. This unfortunate princess named Koko is not only Tama’s closest friend, but also the one she has romantic feelings for. While many roguelikes have a light-hearted story, this one weaves an emotional one.
Meanwhile, in the game, you fight all kinds of monsters as you fight your way through various dungeons. What makes this game different from other roguelike dungeon crawlers is that once you kill an enemy, you can use your necromancy powers to bring them back to life and add them to your party. It completely changes the way you can look at your enemies and the challenges the game poses.
However, the game will not be free forever. If you don’t claim it by April 6, 2023, you’ll need to pay full price if you want to play it on your GX browser. Even if you don’t want to play it right now, it might be a good idea to add it to your library so you’ll have it when you need it.
