The recent Genshin Impact leaks contain a few more details about Inazuma’s future catgirl. If the details are correct, her name is Momoka and she is another of Geo’s protectors. While thematically the character Geo makes sense for creating shields, this will be the third geo-shield in the anime game, featuring Junli and Yun Jin. Hopefully she can do enough to stand out from the crowd besides being part cat.
New defenders are certainly welcome as long as they can fill a rudimentary team protection role, but being the new geodefender when Zhongli is already in place raises a lot of questions. Zhongli arguably has the strongest shields in the game, so now we need to know what else he has to offer Momoka.
Yun Jin, for example, provides useful attack buffs with his shield, which is very useful for characters like Yoimiya and Hu Tao. However, Zhongli is also often used in the same commands, as his shield is simply That good.
It was also stated that Momoka would be the wielder of the Five Star Sword, making her a candidate for the first Geo character to enter the standard Banner. There’s no way to know for sure, but it would be weird if they didn’t add her, because by the time she arrives there will already be two Pyro Claymores and a Dendro character.
