How to get swarms in Destiny 2
To get Destiny 2 Swamers, you need to complete all Destiny 2 Lightfall campaign missions on Legendary difficulty. Upon completion, you can choose exotic armor for your class, and for the Warlock class, the Swarmmen are best suited. Completing all the quests on the Destiny 2 Lightfall quest list in Legendary can be difficult as it depends on your skill level.
If you’re not an experienced Destiny 2 player, the Legendary Destiny 2 Lightfall campaign can be a daunting task. While these quests have a recommended power level to complete them, Bungie also caps your power for these quests, so enemies will always have a natural advantage over you, regardless of your power level. You can request the support of other guardians to help you in the legendary campaign, but keep in mind that the difficulty depends on Destiny 2 Lightfall legendary campaign missions, which makes enemies harder to kill when you have more players in your squad.
If you miss out on Swarmers, another option is to play the entire campaign on normal difficulty, then return to missions on legendary once you know what’s expected of you. New to Lightfall, Strand Tangles are balls of energy from Strand Darkness that spawn when you or another Guardian defeats an enemy affected by Strand’s debuff. These debuffs suspend, unravel and cut.
- Lay off: The target is immobilized by Strand’s matter and rises into the air. While suspended, Guardians cannot move freely and fighters cannot move or use weapons.
- Unravel: The target is imbued with Strand matter. When they take extra damage, they create projectiles that seek out nearby targets.
- Break: Breaks the target’s connection to the world, greatly reducing their damage.
Defeating a fighter with one of these debuffs will create an entangled orb. You can then pick up and throw yarn balls to deal heavy damage to enemies, or you can destroy them by shooting them for AoE damage.
Some Strand weapons will also create Strand Balls. For example, completing the Destiny 2 Quicksilver Storm Catalyst quest will mean that the weapon can spawn String Entanglements on kill.
While the Strand Tangle are powerful, the exotic Swarmers Warlock armor makes them even more powerful.

Destiny 2 Threadlings introduces a new mechanic to the game. Threadlings are woven from Strand matter that targets nearby and attacks them, dealing damage. Berserker Titans, Treadrunner Hunters, and Weaver Warlocks can equip Thread Grenades, and Fragment Rebirth Thread and Finish Thread can create threads for the three Character Thread subclasses: Respawn gives them the grace, and Finalize gives them the ultimate shots on the wire.
However, Broodweaver can also use his abilities to create Threadlings. The Strand of the Weaver’s Call skin allows the Keeper to spin three trade eggs during the rift, which hatch when they hit a surface, and turns any previously summoned trades into trade eggs. Its Mindspun Summon Strand aspect either spins three Tradling Eggs when captured, or allows players to consume Tradling Grenades for three sitting Tradlings. Additionally, the Warlock Super, Needlestorm, shoots needles that return as Threadlings, and sitting Threadlings deal damage when the Warlock attacks.
However, this piece of armor will also allow you to create Tradlings by firing Strand Tangles. As these Threadlings unravel additional enemies, they have the potential to create an endless cycle of Threadlings and Threadlings.
While the armor piece doesn’t require the player to use Thread to take advantage of its mechanics, it certainly complements them and allows mages to make even better use of Thread Aspects and Fragments.
