The Terraformers release date is almost here and it’s adding some extremely exciting new features as it comes out of early access on Steam and GOG to release the full version 1.0. Martian Space City Builder adds the ability to base cities on the two Martian moons Phobos and Deimos, along with a few other additional customizations as it goes live.
Terraformers sees you building a colony on the Red Planet, exploring and establishing cities on its vast surface, discovering resource deposits, giant crystal caverns, and other natural wonders. As the name suggests, you’ll have the ability to actively terraform the planet to change its existence and climate, whether that’s by spewing out a dormant volcano, building massive cosmic mirrors to channel energy from the Sun, or strategically smashing nearby icy asteroids.
As part of the 1.0 update, the Asteroid Lab team introduced the ability to build cities on two moons of Mars. Both Phobos and Deimos are captureable, and you will need to complete a specific project in order to initially populate a city on each of them. They’re tiny compared to the surface of Mars (and even compared to our Moon), but they each have unique bonuses.
Settling on Phobos grants you access to the most interconnected city layout in the game, allowing you to link your buildings and upgrades in more complex ways. It also has access to an aquifer and will increase its tourism and commercial potential. Meanwhile, Deimos has titanium deposits and anomalies, which means you’ll get additional science from the buildings there, as well as a lower cost for future space projects, making it a great place to start other space missions.
The Terraformers 1.0 update also includes eight levels of unlockable content, 17 new buildings, an additional space project, three new technologies, and three new rulers. -A devastating meteor that you must fight. It also allows players to anticipate the increased expectations of the population, and visuals, tutorials, and tooltips have been further improved.
