Is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Steam Deck compatible?
Yes, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is compatible with Steam Deck, but Team Ninja says that it is not officially compatible with PDAs. This means that while it’s technically playable, the developer isn’t actively working to improve the gaming experience on Valve’s laptop. In turn, this can mean that some crashes and performance issues will not be resolved, which could prevent you from reaching Steam Deck Verified status.
However, you can play Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty on a Steam platform and performance doesn’t seem to be an issue. Of course, you’ll have to lower all the settings to increase the frame rate and avoid slideshow scripts, but the experience is far from offensive. However, we do experience some frame drops during combat, so this could affect your success during intense combat.
It should be noted that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty appears to be locked to 720p on the PDA screen. In theory, you can play at higher resolutions using the better Steam Deck, but you’ll have to accept a mailbox when using the built-in display. Unfortunately, manually changing the scaling setting from “native” to 1280×800 doesn’t fix the problem, which means you’ll have to live with this quirk for now.
