Dehya’s sales estimates on the first day of Genshin Impact show that players don’t care about the metagame. If you’ve spent any time in or near the anime gaming community lately, you know that Dehya borders on pointless gameplay. But she’s one of the cutest and best-designed characters in the entire land of Sumeru, which seems so much more important.
Dehya and Cino’s banners are here, right after Hu Tao and Yelan had the most popular banner cycle we’ve seen since its release. The base DPS pair of Pyro and Electro probably don’t quite reach the same heights, but what they may lack in gameplay they make up for in every other major category.
I’m sure there are more eloquent ways of saying it, but Dehya and Cino are great, both visually and in terms of writing. Though often treated as strangers in the desert, its inhabitants show up to help and support others in the city of Sumeru in times of need.
Dehya’s “Wall of Hope” trailer even encouraged players to donate thousands of dollars to a children’s charity after showcasing their selfless actions and ideals. It’s hard to hate these two when it comes to what makes the character as a whole, and the numbers below show that.
These figures come from GenshinLab, a site that collects Chinese app store data and creates sales estimates to show the buying habits of this important part of the RPG player base.
As you can see on the chart, Dehya and Cino managed to earn around $3,834,666/GBP. £3,209,960, which isn’t as much as Nahida and Yomiya’s first day, but still much higher than what the community expected.
Genshin Impact version 3.5 released yesterday, so you can start playing as the Desert Duo or save up for Ayaka and Shenhe in upcoming character posters.
