You may be surprised that I was quite skeptical before playing the second ghost. If you remember my review of the original game since 2020, I was disappointed in the case of the first episode from the predictability of history and the general similarity of other names. To some extent, these problems are repeated this time, but at the same time the directors are significantly ripe, and, among other things, thanks to a more powerful console, they pressed against the completely unique aesthetics of the game, as well as its common soul. The result is gaming poetry, which largely stands out not only about similar games.

Wolf pack

The story takes 300 years after the events of the previous game and, therefore, is completely independent. This time the player takes a lonely mercenary named Acu. The former daughter of the blacksmith, as a small child, experienced the murder of her family Lord Saito and his unfortunate group “Yóteiská Six”. ACU himself also tried to kill that night, but miraculously survived and fled far from home to train the fight in the service of foreign armies for sixteen years. Now he returns to his homeland with a list of six goals, proudly and noticeably wears at the waist.

The story of the revenge of the child, looking for the killer of his parents in the adult life of his parents, is not original, and this year we have already played one of them, moreover, in the game that is extremely similar to this, not only the plot and the situation. But when they do the same, this is not always the same. Although the ACU character was not at first glance (I admit that the choice of an actress with such sadly known radicals and provocative public performances did not help him very much), gradually managed to defeat me, especially how her dialogs were written and how they are loved from high -quality films, dialogs and numbers. Thanks to this, I was amazed at how some moments or reactions of characters seemed, which ultimately brought me to the plot more efficiently than I expected.

A pleasant change against the previous game is more emphasis on secondary characters, which are far from not only for your allies and enemies, but also for the distinctive personalities of merchants or martial arts. In the main menu of the game, you have an item called “Wolf Pack” from the very beginning, where Shadow Silhouetes against the background of the Acu and its wolf gradually fill the allies. Even in this regard, the story was pleasantly ripened, because it indicates how important other people in the lives of those who would prefer to follow the path of a lone wolf. It is still true that the game in places slips into predictable cliches, but unlike the previous one, she was able to surprise me in places and, therefore, more efficiently impress.

The real star of the game

To a large extent, Japan itself can be described as the main “character” of the game at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries or its northern part, where the game takes place. The landscape was the most significant element of the original game, and this is no different. The ghost of Yōtei, however, was based on the new console (the first part was originally published for PS4), and the creators themselves also suffered both technical and art, therefore the result is an even more impressive environment than last time. Both from the point of view of the variety of color palette or biomes, and from the point of view of detailed rendering of the distance or abundance of animated objects, such as birds of birds or herds of horses. It probably will not happen that the art director of the previous game became the creative director of his continuation. If you have not read our conversation with him, we strongly recommend it: this will help you evaluate how the creators prefer a style over realism.

Like films sequences, a trip to the landscape can allow the game to “breathe”, i.e. Alternating quiet or seemingly “empty” excerpts with action. Not only the return of navigation in the wind, but also the lighting of additional actions, which can again emphasize you around the flying bird. Additional measures always offer a significant reward here: the baths will increase your resistance, the sensors will allow you to study new skills, the rhythmic bamboo cutting will add additional special attacks, the salvation of wolf packages will cause you to help and so on. Surprisingly, I was amazingly glad and often “pulled out” from the main road to the mission and wandered even in the entire chain of additional actions. The game is also briefly and figuratively and forms tips on places and other information for your procedure or improvements that tell you random passers -by or even random losers of enemies in the open world. You can easily increase the main storyline to double if you want to find and do everything.

At the same time, you feel the efforts of the creators to offer you meditative activity when you and ACU can think about the events of the current or absorb the magic of the moment. For example, you will use stopped and related to the surface to blow up the founded fire of your camp or play on a Shamisen musical instrument. The atmosphere of life in the wild is also emphasized by the impressive unique Awakening Accu animation in various places in the landscape after the past or completed mission, which resembles the Red Dead Redemption 2, not only because this is usually accompanied by caresses of your horse.

The game uses its own engine prepared by the engine for developers’ needs Bed (WITHUckker PNot ANDNimatia INchase TOInematics and LV EnNgin), which, among other things, leads to the fact that it works completely smoothly. It offers several graphic modes with various resolution and tracking rays. I played in the “Ray Tracing Pro” mode, available for PS5 Pro Console, where the game reaches 60 frames per second using Raytracing. Then the miracle acts almost instantly a quick journey, and if the game is completely closed from the main console menu, almost immediately forces you to play, completely without any menu or recording, like Game Resume can make Xbox. In short, the game acts as one of those that were adapted to the PlayStation console, from performance to significant use of the stop speaker or double meaning.

Arsenal

When it comes to fighting and actions, first, know that by establishing the difficulty, you can configure this aspect of the game: from an almost automatic victory by squeezing one button to the hardcore question, where not only you should alternate the combo, individual weapons and tools, but some enemy stream can kill you with one shot. Thus, festive players who simply want to enjoy the story or a wonderful landscape of the game, so more demanding players who want not only a good call, but also the feeling that each duel is really life and death, every blow of swords can be the last. In many situations, you can choose between dyeing and a quiet murder or open battle.

The system of relations from the last game replaced a similar functioning system of various weapons, where a specific weapon on your side works on different enemies and their weapons, just classic stone bags. You will receive a new weapon, and their expanded use will teach you the martial arts that you must find and convince you to be prepared to train you. There are also weapons at a distance, and you can, for example, get out of the enemy weapons from your hands, and then throw it after another enemy. You open the effectiveness and variety of advanced mechanics in accordance with your preferences. Even here, however, this is not only the lowest complexity.

Spice

In one of the many random events that are not related to life in the game, I came across Ronin, who was about to turn the fallen soldiers on the battlefield of raw materials to improve weapons. When I stopped, he suggested to me that I myself could take it from the corpses (the raw materials were really used to improving your weapons), but I must compensate him for the payment. Thus, the game will give you a choice, ask Ronin to fight or just leave. I called him to a duel, which commented on “cha, I hoped” and raised my sword in a combat attitude in front of a duel. It was an absolutely secondary scene, but I think that it illustrates how the game allows you to configure the nature and reaction of your character, although the main storyline is more or less assigned.

In addition to many similar genuine scenes, the atmosphere of the game is also illustrated by music, which is again a feeling and correctly exotic. Nevertheless, I cannot get rid of the impression that the central melody is not as strong as last time, and even the introductory subtitles did not greatly affect me. But the game filled this later in how he used (Japanese, with subtitles) sang songs. The Czech translation is at a very good level, just some more picturesque phrases seem somewhat less striking than English (or Japanese). The extraordinary aesthetics of the game are supported by a high -quality fashion model, due to what virtual photographers will look like paradise. If you refuse to say goodbye to the game after her finish, you can place it again in one of several special audiovisual modes that significantly change the appearance and even music. In the future (free), he also promised the return of the paranormal regime of the Mutiplayer “Legends”, which in the last game ended with an absolutely unforgettable narrative and demanding purebred raid.


Verdict

Although the central plot has verylerted, sophisticated and feels that the characters and their story will ultimately win your heart, and some turns may surprise. In general, the game looks like a carefully refined gem that relies well on the foundations of its predecessor and feels how mature the creators have ripened and how strong the equipment helped them. User engines and emphasis on stylish aesthetics instead of “boring” realism in itself in the modern creation of AAA with the desired miracle.
