Genshin Impact’s Hu Tao and Yelan banners surpassed the previous sales record set by the recent Raiden Shogun and Ayato banners in version 3.3. Any gamer who has seen the anime game subreddit has likely anticipated this. Both Hu Tao and Yelan are featured characters on almost every Genshin Impact tier list, and more importantly, they are well-loved by the community.
This record isn’t broken that often, but Nahida and Yoimiya took first place at 3.2, followed by Raiden Shogun and Ayato at 3.3, and now Hu Tao and Yelan have surpassed the rest thanks to their Genshin sales. Impact version 3.4.
HoYoverse has been running expensive banners for three consecutive releases, but that may change with update 3.5. While Dehya and Cino are likable characters, they don’t seem to be on the community’s must-have lists.
Meanwhile, Hu Tao and Yelan are two of the best characters in the game, and Yelan arguably has the best C6 constellation on the entire roster. On top of that, her weapon banner is probably the best we’ve seen yet, and Homa’s antler staff and Aqua Simulacra bow are good options for multiple character builds.
All things considered, the aggregate sales numbers below shouldn’t be surprising.
The numbers here come from GenshinLab, a site that collects Chinese app store data to show sales numbers for most players in the game.
As you can see above, Hu Tao and Yelan produced around $45,648,916/GBP. £38,038,785 in sales while Raiden and Ayato earned around $37,919,130/GBP. £31,597,631, which is a noticeable difference.
Dehya and Cyno may not have reached those heights, but you can still use them now because the Genshin Impact v3.5 update went live today.
