All the features coming with the Minecraft 1.20 release date have been announced, and the new biome is just the icing on the update cake, including the Sniffer, the vote-winning Minecraft Live mob, new bamboo building blocks, a minecraft camel, armor ornaments and the highly anticipated minecraft archeology system. The Cherry Grove biome is full of stunning cherry blossoms with dark woods and beautiful pink leaves. Plus, these trees leave their petals trailing on the ground, making the new addition to Minecraft’s various biomes even more beautiful. Break down or let any of these trees rot and you’re sure to pick up some seedlings that can be planted anywhere to add vibrant color.
Along with the new biome and new trees, a new set of trees adds an exciting new builder expansion. And there is no doubt that it is one of the best. We haven’t had this kind of colored wood since the Nether update and these soft pink boards will completely change the possibilities when looking at awesome minecraft builds or even just your simple minecraft house ideas. As usual, the new set includes all the usual pieces, including the fence posts, well and ladder, plus a new 1.20 hanging sign.

Thus, we mentioned that these new cherry trees leave cherry blossom petals on the ground. Well, it’s actually the item itself! Minecraft Rose Petals are a new natural item that can be placed on grass blocks to make your garden, pathway, or other green space even more beautiful!

While Sniffer is coming to Minecraft in a new update, technically there are no new Minecraft mobs to call Cherry Grove home. That doesn’t mean there won’t be some in the future, and it also doesn’t mean the beautiful creatures haven’t roamed the rose bushes since day one. The Cherry Grove biome will be home to corresponding pink pigs, sheep (which can also be pink), and bees. The crawler can also populate the biome, since it does not spawn naturally anywhere, but must hatch from special eggs.

The Cherry Grove biome isn’t the only thing featured in the latest Minecraft snapshot: Archeology Update and Sniffer make it one of the biggest snapshots yet. To read a snapshot in the Java version:
- Open the Minecraft launcher
- Select snapshot 23w07a and press the play button.
- Click Create New World
- Open the “Experiments” option.
- Change “Update 1.20” to “Enabled” (and packages too, if you want!)
- Customize the other settings of the new world to your liking.
- Click “Create New World” and explore the new biome!
That’s all you need to know about the Minecraft Cherry Grove biome for now, and since it’s still in the snapshot phase, it can change before its full release in Minecraft 1.20. We think this biome will be one of the prettiest, so just imagine it with minecraft shaders enabled.
